Danny Makes A Friend
Making Great Progress For the Kids

It Takes a Village

They are surrounding the Cesena family receiving the home: (Mother) Flor, Nolan (in arms), (father) Jesus, (daughter) Kimberly and (son) Dylan in the front.

Family Assistance is one of the 6 paths to hope. Having a special needs child is challenging for a family even in the best of circumstances. The situation taxes both the parents time and attention as well as their resources from managing the related medical, therapeutic, educational and logistical challenges. His Wings Ranch supports families by assisting them with basic housing to provide a stable foundation so that they can help their children thrive.

Nolan has Cerebral Palsy and receives horse therapy and physical therapy and education at His Wings Ranch. When combined with the family assistance he benefits from 4 out of the 6 paths to hope at His Wings Ranch.
This video shows some of the many volunteers from Ebenezer church and Yugo in action as they came together to make the Cesena’s house a reality. The many helping hands include: Dana, Anslee, Jamie, Mitchell, Tyler, Mike, Johnathan and Naomi to name a few.
Mom's Helping Moms

While some Ebenezer Church volunteers were building the Cesena’s a house others were providing support for the mothers of the special needs kids who receive services at His Wings Ranch and in doing so demonstrating another facet of “family assistance”. Joy (in blue shirt) and translator “Brook” (pink jacket) organized and facilitated assistance to 20 mothers of special needs kids.

Parenting a special needs child is demanding and relentless. One thing nearly every mom needs is parental support. Joy and Brook brought them together to build a local community where they could share their stories and support one another going forward. They also asked the mom’s how they could pray for their children and provided Spanish bibles to the parents who requested them.

Meanwhile Joy’s daughter Brooklyn and her sister Annie worked with Emma and Angela to run a vacation bible school for the kids. This also allowed the moms to get together and share practical strategies for raising their own special needs kids.

These Amazing Ebenezer Church Super-volunteers managed to build a house and council moms and provide a vacation bible school all on one trip! Pretty incredible! Here are some of them from left to right: Angela, Emma, (From His Wings, Saphire the horse, Jaciel, Sue) then Glenn, Morgan, Joy, Brooklyn and Annie.
Marisol Gets a Bathroom

Here is the building crew from left to right – Chuck Wells, David Hood, Yohan and his two sons, Terence, then Marlinda and Marisol and Frank in the bottom right. In the back row are Shawn and Jim Woodward. Marlinda is in the right with her daughter Marisol.

In just a few short days this group (including Shawn, Jim, Frank and Terence shown building the roof) made a tremendous difference in Marisol’s and Marlinda’s life.

Marisol was ecstatic ! Between the new bathroom, her fixed up wheelchair and the physical therapy and special classroom education she receives next door, she and her mom feel the love of Christ at His Wings Ranch.
Danny Makes a Friend
Sue’s son Danny visited the ranch from San Diego. He and Jaciel took the horses out for a spin to exercise Brooklyn, the newest and smallest addition to His Wings horse family. Brooklyn’s mom Sapphire took a liking to Danny’s with an eye towards his hat.
