Making Great Progress For the Kids
Seeing Is Believing
In addition His Wings is having her fitted for glasses to help improve her vision as much as possible through exterior correction while awaiting her surgery.
She’s not alone. Belinda is another little girl who benefitted from an evaluation from an an ophthalmologist which found that she has retinol issues. She was fitted with a new pair of glasses and is pending approval for eye surgery in San Diego through the FreshStart program.
Eliam (holding two fingers up) is also pending eye surgery for strabismus (crossed eyes) through FreshStart. Eliam is posing with his brother Dilan who you may remember from a post in December. Dilan receives assistance at the ranch for autism.
In addition to these 3, we were also able to pay for glasses for three more children including Ruth, Sabina and Oliver (pictured above).
Show Me What You Mean!
Stephanie is a young and energetic sign language teacher instructing in Ensenada.
Remember Danya from the story above about vision challenges? Danya came to us 4 months ago without the ability to communicate verbally. His Wings Ranch staff have been learning sign language so that they can communicate with Danya and other kids like her. Now that she has improved vision we can also use pictograms, communication apps and our iPad devices as well but sign language is something she will always have with her as she progresses in her communication.
Kevin's House
Kevin receives services at His Wings Ranch. He has hyperactivity which makes it difficult for him to learn and sit still in class. Unfortunately that has resulted in him falling way behind at school. To catch up he comes to His Wings Ranch to work with our special education teachers Augustin and Josefina.
By the grace of God, Yugo ministries is building Kevin’s family a home.
Kevin (in the gray hood) and his brother Brandon put the final touches on the cross next to the front door.
Volunteer coordinator Philip came down from North Coast Church in San Diego county with a team he put together to supply the labor to build the house. This is his 18th house and he will be back in March.
Rosalinda (dressed in white) is the mother of Kevin and Brandon and about to be the new resident to this beautiful home. She is assisted by Naomi from Hugo ministries who is part of the team providing logistics and English translation for the project.
Like What We Do?
