Looking for Partners
People like Bernie make His Wings Ranch successful. We are a volunteer organization that truly operates based on collaboration. We don’t have paid coordinators or professional fundraisers, just regular people like you. Those involved choose to give their time, talent and finances to assist. (Including the website and newsletters – all volunteered). They have felt inspired to help by witnessing both the kids needs and Sue and Johnny’s response and success.
As an example, portable classrooms were donated by Horizon Church and then the material to refurbish them was donated by Serving Hands International. More volunteers drove down to paint and repair them as well as build wheelchair ramps to access each building.
When you give financially or through your time know that you are truly partnering with other individuals just like you who multiply your support with their own. His Wings Ranch is truly an inspiring organization with a heart of gold making a tremendous difference to the lives of kids right where it is needed most through regular people just like you.

Clear Vision
Seeing clearly for the first time. That’s the expereince Carlos had when he looked through corrective lenses to see his doctor Martha Powell in focus for the first time. Just when you thought His Wings Ranch was doing plenty of miracles with physically disabled kids and those with developmental delays we’re here to tell you that we also help kids to see.
Close your eyes for a minute and try to figure out where you are in space and what it around you. If you’re like most people you’ll feel lost and disoriented. We forget how blessed we are to be able to see clearly whenever we want without effort. Sometimes a pair of glasses is all it takes to restore vision to kids who’ve never had it before.
Medical Assistance
Clear vision is just one example of the medical assistance we provide for kids and one of the Six paths to hope we support at the ranch. As you can imagine medical assistance is as broad as the needs of the kids we serve. Most recently it has come in the form of a delivery of “Vacuum-assisted closures” and other medical equipment across the border with the assistance of the Mayor of Ensenada. The “Vacuum-assisted closures” help treat chronic pressure sore wounds like those Valentina was suffering from before being treated in the United States in the fall prior to her tragic accident in January. Having these types of medical treatments on hand enables Sue to offer ways to treat wounds early so that kids don’t find themselves needing more complicated treatments later. Excess medical supplies were donated to the Ensenada Hospital whose staff was very appreciative.

Gloria gets treated on the basketball court with the new medical supplies. The result is not just a happy Gloria but a happy Adan as well.
Baby Horse
We couldn’t resist. Few things are cuter than our brand new 1 day old colt! This is the third horse born on the ranch. We’ve included a photo slide show which includes the little guy spending time with his mom and his older brother, a german shepherd.
