His Wings Ranch

Making Great Progress For the Kids

Luis

Luis came to us in 2020 at the age of 7. He was having multiple contractures and wasn’t able to walk. His mother was very poor.
We provided him with leg braces and a walker and started with horse therapy and rage of motion exercises
but it was becoming apparent that Luis was getting more and kyphotic in his thoracic spine as it was arching over much more as he aged.

He had a tough time making progress on his walker

We provided him with a wheelchair and in 2024 we started applying for a surgery for him through the International Shriners Children’s Hospital system in the United States.
It took a half year to get accepted and another 2 years for a spot to open up at the hospital for his surgery. Meanwhile His Spine continued to collapse on itself
During that time we provided preoperative care including testing and X-rays as he starting to have problems with his lung capacity and issues with the kyphosis beginning to crush organs in his chest.

In January 2026 Luis went to Chicago. He was placed in a halo traction device for six weeks to prepare him for his surgery.
Then in March of this year he had his big spinal fusion surgery where they took out some vertebrae and straightened him up and put bars and plates and screws in his back to correct the kyphosis. He contined to stay there until this past June. When he returned we organized his post operative care and instituted horse therapy. He still walks with a walker but is much more upright.

Your support, along with a house building organization called Yugo, provided Yolanda and her family with a house to allow them to live close so that they could receive services over the past 5 years.

END DRAFT

Now Yolanda has a bright future ahead of her as she continues to improve attending school at the ranch with our instructor Lulu and continuing to receive therapy with Emelia. She is one of the 120 children whose lives have forever been changed for the better by your support of His Wings Ranch.

Just a few years ago His Wings Ranch looked like this:

Thanks to your support it has been transformed into a community hub for therapy, education, wheelchairs, medical assistance and family assistance for over 200 special needs kids and their families since the ranch was created.

Your support created horse corrals, built the wheelchair ramps, procured braces and wheelchairs for the kids, provided thousands of hours of physical and horse therapy, brought teachers for the classrooms and transported kids to doctors visits. You’ve brought hope to Yolanda and over one-hundred other kids by serving as the body of Christ expressed at His Wings Ranch. We are eternally grateful for your partnership.
